The Power of Drivel
When I saw the article praising LACMA’s debacle “The Healing Power of Art,” I saw red (“Invoking the Spirit of Laughter,” by Alex Halberstadt, Oct. 5). I was trapped by politeness in the first row at the worst evening I ever have spent at a performance or presentation, until my partner and I, not being able to stand it, rose just a moment before the performance was declared over. Not surprisingly, we saw that almost half the untrapped audience had left.
The single presentations I have seen in each of the first three seasons of this LACMA lecture series have gone from bad to unwatchable. How could such an important institution showcase such abject drivel?
