Residents can drop off rubbish free from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Simi Valley Landfill and Recycling Center, 2801 Madera Road.
In addition to rubbish, appliances, unused concrete and asphalt, clean wood and green waste will be accepted for recycling.
Residents are asked to separate recyclable materials from rubbish. Loads should be covered to prevent spills.
Participants must have proof of residency, such as a driver’s license with a Simi Valley address, and unload their vehicles. No commercial waste or hazardous waste will be accepted.
People planning to bring waste in a commercial vehicle are asked to contact center officials at 579-7267 beforehand.
More information can be obtained by calling the city’s Department of Community Services at 583-6861.
