COSTA MESA
8pm
Pop Music
Dodge Dart’s 1999 album “So American” was a refreshingly loopy blast of catchy power punk, eminently more charming and less overtly obnoxious than much of Blink-182’s similarly targeted music. The Costa Mesa quartet recently recorded four songs that they’re shopping around in hopes of a record deal; meanwhile, fans can get a dose of Dart in their backyard at the Tiki Bar.
* Dodge Dart, Tiki Bar, 1700 Placentia Ave., Costa Mesa. With Duane Peters & the Huns. 8 p.m. $8. (949) 548-3533.

Comedy
Veteran comic Dom Irrera, a two-time Cable ACE Award winner, developed his keen observational skills growing up in a multi-generational Italian household in South Philadelphia, where he hung out with guys named “Weasel,” “Fruitfly” and “Joey Bag of Donuts.” Whether he’s talking about his crazy family or growing older, Irrera’s comedy is the stuff of everyday life. Take his new girlfriend: “I don’t want to brag, but she’s a fox. No. literally a fox. Sneaky, beady eyes. . . .”
* Dom Irrera, Irvine Improv, 71 Fortune Drive, 8:30 p.m. Also Friday, 8:30 and 10:30 p.m.; Saturday, 7, 9 and 11 p.m.; Sunday, 7 p.m. $12 to $15. (949) 854-5455.
