W. T. ‘Mac’ McGraw; Ex-Tool Store Owner

W. T. “Mac” McGraw, a former oil field worker and tool store owner, died Sunday in a Ventura convalescent home following a brief illness. He was 91.

McGraw was born July 19, 1909, in Parker, Kan. He moved from Fairfield, Calif., to Ventura County, where he lived for 51 years.

For 50 years, he worked in the oil fields. He then owned and operated Hampton Tool Co. for about 22 years before retiring in 1989.

He was a member of Poinsettia Lodge No. 633 Free and Accepted Masons, a lifetime member of the Al Malaikah Shriners and the Scottish Rite. He was also a member of Moose Lodge No. 1394.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Margaret, in 1974, and son John in 1999.

McGraw is survived by companion Louise Gentry of Oxnard; son William J. McGraw of Vacaville; daughter Lenora Dodini of Suisun City, Calif.; sister Ruby Croan of Kansas; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura. Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Poinsettia Lodge No. 633 Free and Accepted Masons officiating. Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
