The fourth-quarter budget for the Brea Redevelopment Agency saw a $402,000 spending increase due to unexpected costs in capital improvements and an increase in debt, officials reported.
The fiscal 1999-2000 budget increased when city staff spent $42,000 extra for improvements on Mercury Lane and Berry Street. The money was spent on fences, gates and lighting that cost more than expected.
