Artie Dorr
Corona del Mar, Water Polo
Dorr scored two of his five goals in the final quarter of No. 5 Corona del Mar’s 12-11 victory over No. 3 Newport Harbor in the title game of the S&R; Sport Cup. Dorr was voted tournament MVP, scoring two goals in a semifinal victory over Long Beach Wilson and three in an upset of top-ranked San Clemente. In the Pacific Coast League opener Wednesday, Dorr had four goals in a 9-5 victory over No. 8 Laguna Beach.

Had seven sacks, knocked down a pass and recovered a blocked punt in victory over No. 7 Santa Margarita.

Esperanza, Football
Carried 38 times for 296 yards--the county’s season best--and scored five touchdowns against Mission Viejo.
Julie Allen
Fountain Valley, Cross-Country
Allen, a junior, posted the fastest time at the Central Park Invitational in Huntington Beach, winning the Division II race in 17 minutes 31 seconds. It was the second- fastest time in the event’s history. On Thursday, Allen, The Times’ Orange County runner of the year last season, broke her fourth course record in as many weeks, finishing in 17:25 at Fountain Valley as the Barons defeated Marina, 26-29.

Upset San Marino’s Luana Magnani and went undefeated at the National High School All-American tournament.
* Stella Lee
Irvine, Golf
Shot four-under-par 32 at Oak Creek in Irvine’s victory over Laguna Hills. Four under is a county best this season.
