Homeless Man Found Dead in Santa Ana

A 41-year-old homeless man was found dead in the parking lot of a Santa Ana bar Sunday morning, police said.
Investigators said the man had been beaten severely. Santa Ana Police Sgt. Raul Luna said that, although the exact cause of death has yet to be determined, “it’s definitely a homicide.”
The man was found just before 8 a.m. Sunday in a lot next to La Cascada bar in the 4400 block of 1st Street. Investigators estimated that the man died late Saturday or early Sunday, Luna said.
The man’s name was not released pending notification of relatives.
