Other economic reports due this week

* Wednesday, the Commerce Department will report on wholesale inventories for August. They rose 0.3% in July.
* Thursday, the Labor Department will report on first-time claims for state unemployment benefits for the week ended Oct.7.
* Thursday, the Labor Department will report on September import prices, which climbed 0.2% the month before. The report is likely to reflect higher oil prices, which remained above $30-a-barrel last month since the U.S. imports more than half its crude oil.
