Canyons 66, Pierce 14--The Cougars, ranked No. 6 in the state, scored the first 56 points in a WSC Northern Division game at Pierce.
Travis Winn completed 19 of 21 passes for 280 yards and five touchdowns for Canyons (5-0, 3-0).
He also had four carries for 39 yards and a touchdown.
Steve Smith ran for 90 yards and a touchdown in 15 carries and caught two passes for 20 yards.
The Brahmas (1-4, 1-2) averaging 422 yards a game, were held to a season-low 160.
They didn’t reach the 50-yard line until late in the third quarter.
Jamaal Washington completed only one of six passes for eight yards with an interception before leaving with a knee injury late in the second quarter.
His replacement, Mike Spangle, completed seven of seven passes for 98 yards and a touchdown.
