Ventura 42, Glendale 20--David Camaron rushed for 135 yards and three touchdowns in 23 carries for the Pirates in a WSC Northern Division game at Ventura High.
Camaron scored on runs of two, eight and 21 yards in the first half for Ventura (2-3, 1-2), which had 56 points in its first four games.
Rob Hoy blocked two punts for the Vaqueros (2-3, 1-2), both of which were returned for touchdowns. The first was returned 35 yards by Jonathan Hu in the first quarter, and the second was returned 17 yards by Mark Garcia in the fourth quarter.
Drakus Langford scored on a 79-yard interception return that increased Ventura’s lead to 31-6 with seven seconds left in the half.
Jamel Applewhite rushed for 114 in 14 carries and scored on a 56-yard run for Glendale, which leads the series, 35-23-4.
