Were There Starr Sightings, Or Was Coach a Homebody?

Troy Starr missed his first football game in nine years as Taft High coach Friday night after losing an appeal of a suspension for holding practice on Labor Day.
The big question around the Woodland Hills campus was where Starr would hang out during the Toreadors’ game against San Fernando.
Would he watch the game with binoculars from a hotel across from the campus? Would he go to the movies to see “Remember the Titans”? Would he disguise himself as Taft’s mascot?
“I will neither confirm nor deny I will be in the bull’s outfit,” he said.
Starr spent part of Friday carrying a sign that read, “I’ll coach for food,” and students carried the coach’s photo attached to tongue depressors at Friday’s game.
When pressed, Starr said he would spend the night at his Woodland Hills home with his wife, but he showed up magically after Taft won, 31-14.
