OXNARD — Fat and sugar lovers take heart. By next summer, Oxnard could become home to the county’s first Krispy Kreme Doughnuts outlet.
The hot-confections maker, which has a nationwide following, is scheduled to become part of a new shopping center on the southeast corner of Rose Avenue and Lockwood Street.
In addition to Krispy Kreme, the new center is scheduled to include Del Taco and Carl’s Jr. restaurants, 40,000 square feet of retail stores and a Chevron gas station with a convenience store and a dozen pumps. Developers hope to open the center in June.
The Oxnard City Council will discuss the project at its meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. in City Hall, 305 W. 3rd St.
