Benson’s Goals Lead Chapman to Victory

Briana Benson scored first-half goals within two minutes to lead Chapman to a 3-0 women’s soccer victory over Redlands Wednesday at Chapman.
Benson first scored in the 33rd minute off an assist from Cary Groseclose and then scored again in the 34th minute off of a Sara Struhs’ assist to make it 2-0.
Heather Reynolds also scored for Chapman (8-4-1).
In Golden State Athletic Conference men’s soccer:
Cal Baptist 4, Hope International 0--Jesse Ochoa scored a goal in each half for visiting Cal Baptist (2-1 in conference).
Goaltender Roger Pena had 18 saves for Hope International (0-4 in conference).
Christian Heritage 4, Concordia 2--Christian Heritage (5-6, 1-2) took a 2-0 first-half lead on goals from Russ Aamodt and Jason Aldous. Aldous scored his second goal to start the second half.
Concordia scored back-to-back goals by Trevor Bermudez, but a goal by Jared Philips in the 84th minute put the game out of reach. Concordia drops to 3-9, 1-2.
