Verdugo Hills is 0-4 and has scored only two touchdowns. But no one can say first-year Coach Darrin Fitzgerald isn’t giving everyone an opportunity.

Twelve ballcarriers have struggled to gain 227 yards in 115 carries. Ten receivers have combined for 27 receptions. And four quarterbacks have completed 29 of 78 passes for 218 yards.

Donte Carney has rushed for a touchdown and Bill Parra scored on a pass from Michael Tinker.

The sharing doesn’t stop there: Different kickers--Juan Pena and Ivan Moreno--have booted the PAT after each touchdown.
