North Carolina State, Yow, Wow Greathouse

Kelly Greathouse of Buena High has committed to play women’s basketball at North Carolina State.
Greathouse, a 6-foot-3 All-American and three-time Times All-Ventura County forward, canceled recruiting visits to Stanford and UC Santa Barbara after visiting North Carolina State last weekend.
During the past three seasons, Greathouse was a fan of Santa Barbara, where her sister, Nicole, will be a senior this season.
But that loyalty was overcome by Kay Yow, North Carolina State’s coach for 26 seasons and the gold medal-winning coach of the U.S. team at the 1988 Olympics.
“She is the most awesome person I have ever met in my life,” Greathouse said.
