Jones, Leary Lead Hart to Easy Victory in Golf

Sara Jones shot a four-over-par 37 and Erica Leary had a 39 to pace Hart High to victory Tuesday in the first Foothill League girls’ golf match of the season at Vista Valencia Golf Course.
Natasha Peris of Hart shot a 41 to give the Indians a 117 total and a 25-stroke margin of victory over runner-up Burbank.
Moah Chang of Burbank, second to Jones in the league finals last year, was the medalist with a 34.
Newbury Park 146, Thousand Oaks 152--Julie McKenna of Newbury Park shot a three-over-par 39 to defeat Rebecca Norris of Thousand Oaks by five shots in a nonleague match at Sunset Hills Country Club.
Camarillo 128, Rio Mesa 136--Sophomore Alanna Silvertrust shot a three-over-par 39 to lead Camarillo in a Pacific View League match at Camarillo Springs Golf Course.
GIRLS’ TENNIS
Granada Hills 7, Chatsworth 0--The Highlanders posted their 21st consecutive victory in a West Valley League match at Chatsworth.
Granada Hills (5-0, 2-0), defending City Section 4-A Division champion, has outscored its opponents, 42-0.
Simi Valley 11, Newbury Park 7--The Pioneers (10-2, 5-0) went 9-0 in doubles sets in a Marmonte League match at Rancho Simi Community Park.
Harvard-Westlake 10, Chaminade 8--The Wolverines (4-2) swept nine doubles sets in a Mission League-opening match at the Studio City Golf and Tennis Club.
Isabel Bussarakum and Zelda Harris, playing at No. 2, led the way for Harvard-Westlake (2-3), losing seven games in three sets.
Ventura 10, Dos Pueblos 8--Katy O’Brien and Sara Cid swept at No. 1 doubles for host Ventura (6-1, 2-1) in a Channel League match.
La Reina 17, Bishop Diego 1--The Regents lost only eight games in singles in a Tri-Valley League victory at La Reina.
Stephanie Matthews and Katheryn Meister, playing at Nos. 1 and 2 for La Reina (3-6, 2-1), each swept three singles sets.
Canyon 13, Valencia 5--Alanna Gadd and Dorian Miller improved to 29-1 with a sweep of their doubles matches in a Foothill League match at Canyon.
St. Bonaventure 13, Oak Park 5--Katie Callaghan swept at No. 1 singles, and Catherine Hillman and Allie Hause swept at No. 1 doubles for the Seraphs in a Tri-Valley League match at Oak Park.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
Ventura 3, Bakersfield 0--J.J. Toohey had a goal and an assist for Ventura (10-2-2, 4-1) in a Western State Conference interdivisional game. Bakersfield is 10-1-1, 4-1.
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
La Reina def. Bishop Diego, 15-4, 15-3, 15-5--Jennifer Ryan had 15 kills and Ashlie Hain had 22 assists for La Reina in a Tri-Valley League match at Bishop Diego.
Flintridge Sacred Heart def. Notre Dame, 15-3, 16-14, 11-15, 15-11--Sarah Skeehan had seven kills, eight blocks and seven digs, and Jaclyn Cuevas had 17 kills, 13 digs and five blocks for the Tologs (4-2, 1-0) in a Mission League victory.
