The city has received a $100,000 grant from the Orange County Transportation Authority to begin designing a pathway for golf carts, scooters and pedestrians along El Toro Road.
The new pathway would run from Calle Sonora to Paseo de Valencia on the south side of El Toro Road. City staff will begin preliminary designs for the pathway, which must be approved by the City Council, said Doug Reilly, administration services director for Laguna Woods.
“Our top priority will be safety,” Reilly said.
The pathway was voted as one of the top services needed in the city by residents in a workshop last week. Information: (949) 452-0600.
