“You know how you have one of those wines you remember your whole life? Last summer, I was at the Vega Sicilia winery (in Spain) for a meeting of Primum Familiae Vini (Leading Wine Families), which encompasses great families in the world of wine. They made a wonderful dinner in a fantastic setting, and we had a 1942 Vega Sicilia ‘Unico.’ It was such a memorable experience. If I’d had that wine at home by myself, it wouldn’t have meant anything. That’s the thing about wine-tasting. . . . It depends on the experience. The wine was like a noble, elegant old lady. Beautiful.”
