Lori Mann
Santa Margarita, Cross-Country
Mann placed second at the Stanford Invitational, recording the fifth-fastest time overall in the high
school division. The senior finished the race in 18 minutes 54 seconds. Mann’s finish helped Santa Margarita to a fifth-place finish as a team. Amber Trotter of Ukiah won the race in 18 minutes 23 seconds. Mann, who finished fifth in last year’s meet, recorded the fastest time of any county runner on the three-mile course.
* Susanna Lingman
Woodbridge, Tennis
Lingman, a senior, lost a total of only four games in victories over Northwood, Mater Dei and Laguna Hills.
* Allison McKenzie
Newport Harbor, Field Hockey
Scored the only goal as the Sailors defeated Marina, 1-0, to win the Orange County Invitational title.
Chris Manderino
Newport Harbor, Football
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound senior, converted from starting quarterback to tailback just two weeks ago, dominated the game in the Sailors’ 33-16 victory over Dana Hills. He carried the ball 30 times for 256 yards. He scored three
touchdowns on carries of 38, six and two yards. By halftime he had already carried the ball 21 times for 216 yards. For good measure he added a sack from his linebacker position on defense.
* T.J. Matijevich
Villa Park, Water Polo
Had three goals as the Spartans won their own tournament, defeating Simi Valley Royal, the No. 1 team in Division IV.
* Tony Holder
Los Alamitos, Football
Caught nine passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns in the Griffins’ win over St. John Bosco, No. 9 in Division I.
