SchoolPower, a foundation that raises money for Laguna Beach’s four public schools, has raised more than $130,000 in the first week of its annual Community Campaign, officials announced.
SchoolPower intends to raise $250,000 in the pledge-gathering campaign to pay for a variety of programs at the schools, including dance, journalism and music.
More than 70 families have already joined the Hundred Thousand Club, pledging at least $1,000 each.
SchoolPower’s goal is to reach all 1,700 families that have children in the Laguna Beach Unified School District before the campaign ends Nov. 6.
