City Receives Award for Design Guidelines

Simi Valley has received an award of merit for its city design guidelines.
The city was recognized in the American Planning Assn./Central Coast Section’s Outstanding Planning Awards for 2000.
The design guidelines were prepared over three years by the city’s design consultant and a design guidelines committee made up of two City Council members, two planning commissioners and a representative of Simi Valley’s Vision 2020 Committee.
Urban Design Studios served as consultant to the city in preparing the guidelines.
