Kyle Painter threw for 245 yards and four touchdowns and Micah Tatum returned two interceptions for touchdowns as Brethren Christian won at San Marino High.
After taking a 7-0 lead on a 78-yard interception return by Tatum, Brethren Christian (1-2-1) scored three touchdowns on just five plays from scrimmage.
After Nick Escanes recovered a fumble, Tatum caught a 43-yard touchdown pass with 7:21 left in the first quarter. Painter then threw touchdown passes of 25 and 22 to Dave Workman for a 28-0 lead.
Painter hooked up with Workman again for a 57-yard scoring strike with 5:16 left in the half, and the Warriors’ final four touchdowns took a combined 1:55 off the clock.
Maranatha (0-4) was held to 107 yards in total offense. The Warrior offense rolled up 390 yards, with Workman catching five passes for 130 yards.
