Re: “Woman, Allegedly Fired for Tongue Stud, Sues Ex-Boss” [Sept. 27].
Frankly, I’m surprised Gloria Allred would accept such a baseless case in an “at will” state such as California.
Excluding specific contractual agreements, private employers in this state can fire and hire at will. Except for certain discrimination criteria, they are not required to have reasons to hire and/or terminate an employee.
This case will never be heard by a judge.
