To the people who write the theater listings and Critics’ Choices:
I am wondering about the credibility of the “critics.” Do these people have degrees in theater? What about experience as theater reviewers outside this newspaper? Do the “critics” go to every single play that is written about in the listings section? Do the “critics” have carte blanche to say whatever they want? Is the listings section a playground for the “critics’ ” musings or is it an information section?
I would prefer that the “critics” keep their opinions to themselves in the listings section. Just tell me what the show is about, where and when it is playing, and leave your comments in the restroom during intermission, where they belong.
