Two women and a man were found inside the cab of a truck on a Palmdale street late Wednesday afternoon with gunshot wounds to the head, authorities said.
All three were airlifted to area hospitals, said Sgt. Brian Jones of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Palmdale station.
The victims were in critical condition Wednesday night.
“We believe it may have been a murder-suicide” attempt, Jones said.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to a call for help after the tractor-trailer hit a tree, Jones said. When they arrived at the scene, an area owned by Palmdale Regional Airport, officers found the shooting victims inside the vehicle.
The truck was heading north on 90th Street East between Palmdale Boulevard and Avenue O when it crashed before 4:30 p.m., authorities said.
Authorities have not released the names of the victims or their relationships to each other.
