* Benefit--The Arts Council of the Conejo Valley will present its annual fund-raiser “Broadway Under the Stars” July 6-8 at the Arts Council Center in Thousand Oaks. Current and former members of the Conejo Valley Young Artists Ensemble will stage songs and scenes from some of Broadway’s most beloved productions. Each event will begin at 7 p.m. with pre-show entertainment and a silent auction. The show will begin at 8, followed by a champagne reception. * Kites--The Cal Oaks Kite Classic will be held July 9 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, 40 Presidential Drive, Simi Valley. Highlights will include professional kite demonstrations, Chinese kite-making and kite-decorating. Also, an air show will feature professional skydivers and World War II-era aircraft flown by the Confederate Air Force. The first 1,000 kids will receive a free kite. * Benefit--Beach Ride 2000, a fund-raiser for the Exceptional Children’s Foundation, will return July 9 to San Buenaventura State Beach in Ventura. After a morning ride, motorcycle enthusiasts will gather at the beach for live music, a tattoo contest, vendor booths and more. The event will begin around 11 a.m. $20. (800) 696-3727.
