1927 ‘First Auto’ Film to be Shown

In conjunction with the Petersen Automotive Museum’s exhibit on famous cars from Hollywood films, the Silent Movie Theater will screen “The First Auto,” a 1927 movie that shows just how far back that relationship goes.

Written by Darryl F. Zanuck, the Warner Bros. movie is set in 1895 and revolves around a father-son conflict over the newfangled horseless carriage.

It will be shown July 7-9 at 8 p.m., with an additional screening at 1 p.m. July 9.
