Coast Guard Searches for 2 Missing Fishermen

The U.S. Coast Guard launched a search late Sunday for a missing boat that did not return after a day of fishing off Santa Cruz Island.
A friend of the two male passengers aboard the 17-foot craft notified the Coast Guard when the boat had not returned to Ventura Harbor by 9:30 p.m., a spokesman said.
After officials failed to reach the boat by radio, a sea search was launched.
Santa Cruz Island is the largest of the Channel Islands, and is 22 miles off the coast.
No other information was available.
