The City Council last Tuesday voted 3 to 2 to increase the salary range for management employees by 3%. The decision does not automatically guarantee a raise for management employees. However, for those at the bottom and top of the pay scale, salaries will now be 3% higher. A consultant encouraged the adjustment to increase the competitiveness of the city in hiring and retaining top-level employees. Mayor Tom Daly and Councilman Tom Tait voted against the adjustment, estimated to cost the city $150,000 more per year.
