A 25-year-old Burbank woman died when she lost control of her vehicle and it crashed into a culvert near Griffith Park, the California Highway Patrol said.
The accident occurred about 6:20 a.m. Thursday on the Golden State Freeway near the Colorado Street exit, authorities said. Oliva Garza was driving her 1987 Nissan pickup truck in a southbound lane when she swerved and struck a guardrail, CHP Officer Frank Sansone said. The truck overturned into the culvert.
Garza was wearing a seat belt and alcohol and drugs don’t appear to have been involved, Sansone said.
