Philip Romano; Retired Movie Studio Worker

Philip Romano, a retired motion picture studio worker, died Tuesday at his home in Oxnard. He was 75.
He was born July 26, 1924, in New York, where he grew up and went to school.
Romano served in the Coast Guard during World War II. After the war, he moved to California and began working in back lot productions for Paramount Studios and Universal Pictures.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed assembling radio-controlled airplanes.
Romano is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary; son Michael of Simi Valley; daughter Anne Garfalo of Santa Clarita; mother Ann Romano of Canoga Park; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Assn. V.N.A. Hospice, 1996 Eastman Ave., Ventura, CA 93003.
A funeral Mass is scheduled at 1 p.m. today at the San Fernando Mission.
Arrangements are under the direction of Utter McKinley San Fernando Mission Funeral Home in Mission Hills.
