Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co. posted a 27% jump in second-quarter net income to $1.46 billion, or $1.26 a share, far better than the $1.13 analysts expected, as growth from its international business and trading offset a slowdown in U.S. underwriting. Net revenue rose 25% to $7.1 billion.
