Council President Ferraro Recovering From Surgery

LOS ANGELES — City Council President John Ferraro is recovering from cancer surgery and will be absent from the council for at least a week, according to a statement issued by his office this week.
Ferraro’s spleen was removed Monday and he was recovering in an intensive care unit of a local hospital. Ferraro disclosed in February that he had cancer of the spleen, and had been treated with chemotherapy.
