BALDWIN PARK — At least one gunman in a car sprayed bullets at two men in their early 20s who were standing in front of a Baldwin Park house Monday, killing one and critically wounding the other, a sheriff’s deputy said.
The attack on Ledford Street, shortly after 2 p.m., appeared to be gang-related, said Deputy Bruce Thomas.
The victims were sitting on a cinder-block wall in front of the residence with two other people when an older model white car with at least two occupants drove past and at least one person in the vehicle opened fire with an assault weapon, authorities said. Both victims, whose names were not released, were shot in the upper body, he said. The other two people ran and were not hit.
About 30 shell casings reportedly were found after the shooting.
