May and McPeak Lose in Toronto Open Final

Misty May, of Newport Harbor High and Long Beach State, and partner Holly McPeak lost to Adriana Behar and Shelda Bede, 15-12, in the final of the FIVB Toronto Open Sunday.
Behar and Bede won $26,000 and May and McPeak won $18,000. In the men’s final, Brazil’s Jose Loiola and Emanuel Rego defeated John Child and Mark Hesse of Canada, 16-14. Loiola and Rego trailed, 14-8, before rallying to win the first prize of $28,000.
