* The EU ministers also will formally confirm that Greece has qualified as the 12th member to join the euro single currency. That means that Europe’s oldest currency is climbing back into the history books. The famous likenesses of Apollo, Homer and Alexander the Great on the drachma will disappear along with the drachma, which will be scrapped in favor of faceless euro notes. After years of fiscal belt-tightening, Greece is certain to receive approval to join the euro zone during the EU summit.
