EUREKA--A cattle drive through Old Town kicks off the Redwood Acres Fair & Rodeo at noon June 21. Festivities through June 25 include a carnival, farm exhibits, entertainment, a laser show and a rodeo. Fairgrounds, Harris Street. Noon-11 p.m. each day. $7; $3 ages 60 and up; $2 ages 5-12. HOLLISTER--Local cowboys and equestrian groups will round up the 67th Saddle Horse Show and Parade, June 22-25. Events include the parade at 6 p.m. June 22, a barbecue at 5 p.m. June 23 and a dance 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. June 24 ($5). SAN DIEGO--The 21st annual Ocean Beach Street Fair & Chili Cook-Off June 24 will serve up an art show, food and entertainment on three stages and a children’s area, along with chili and salsa contests. 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Free admission; tastes 50 cents each. (619) 224-4906.
LAKE ARROWHEAD--Take a free shuttle boat ride from Lake Arrowhead village to Tavern Bay, where the Rotary Art and Wine Festival takes place June 24-25. About 75 artists will display their work. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. both days. Free. (909) 336-4014.
ROUGH AND READY--After 150 years, this Northern California town still celebrates its brief secession from the U.S. in 1850. Secession Days festivities begin June 25 with a breakfast at 7:30 a.m. ($3.50). Historical reenactments of the secession follow, along with entertainment and games. Downtown. 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.
