* Re “D.A. Seeks Stiffer Penalties for Wildlife Refuge That Violated Probation,” June 14: How is it that Deputy Dist. Atty. Robert Miller is more interested in “remediation of the problems than in any punishment” yet has asked for stiffer penalties against the Wildlife Waystation? If half the effort used to cite the Wildlife Waystation were used toward repairing it, all its problems would be remedied by now. Every person who cares about animals should stand behind the Wildlife Waystation and assist it in any way possible (this includes the state Department of Fish and Game).

May we see the Wildlife Waystation close only when animals no longer need the invaluable service it provides.
