Red Cross Offering Child-Safety Classes

The American Red Cross is offering a pair of child-safety training sessions in July.
A 15-hour course on first-aid training for child-care providers will be offered at the organization’s Ventura County chapter, 2355 Portola Road, in Ventura. The first of four consecutive Thursday sessions begins July 6 from 6 to 10 p.m.
The California Child Care Program offers training in infant and child cardiopulmonary resuscitation, pediatric first aid and seven additional hours of health and safety training. Registration costs $70. For more information, call 339-2234, ext. 233.
The second safety course, a baby-sitters’ training session for youths age 11 to 15, is offered from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 8 at the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center, 4550 Tierra Rejada Road, in Moorpark.
Students will learn how to care for younger siblings or get information on how to offer their services as baby-sitters. The cost is $25. Call 531-9100 to register.
