PANORAMA CITY — Authorities have identified a man shot to death during a family dispute as Iban Levelton Smith, 27, of Van Nuys.
Smith died Thursday after he tried to break up a fight between his girlfriend, Nicole Bell, 21, and her father at their home in the 9800 block of Vesper Avenue, authorities said.
The father, Lincoln Bell, 54, allegedly grabbed a handgun and shot Smith once in the chest, Officer Ed Funes of the Los Angeles Police Department said. Bell was arrested on suspicion of murder.
