Nortel Networks Corp., North America’s No. 2 phone equipment maker, agreed to buy the 91% of software maker Epicon Inc. it doesn’t already own for $275 million in stock. Nortel will exchange about 5 million shares for Chelmsford, Mass.-based Epicon, which has 60 employees. . . . German firm SAP, the world’s largest maker of business management software, said it plans to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in Pleasanton, Calif.-based Commerce One Inc. SAP now owns 1% of Commerce One.
