EBay to Buy Half.com

EBay Inc. agreed to buy closely held Half.com for at least $312.8 million in stock, expanding into fixed-price trades between Web users. EBay, the Internet’s largest auction site, said it will swap 4.6 million to 5.5 million shares for Half.com stock in a transaction expected to close in the third quarter. Half.com’s buyers and sellers trade used books, CDs, movies and video games at prices that are at least half off the list price. San Jose-based EBay rose $1.19 to close at $68 on Nasdaq.
