Special Devices Names New Executive Vice President

Special Devices Inc. in Moorpark, which manufactures pyrotechnic devices for the aerospace and automotive industries, has named John J. Walsh to the new position of executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Walsh will direct all of Special Devices’ automotive and aerospace operations. He has held various executive management positions with major aerospace manufacturers, including Textron Lycoming, Lockheed Corp., Thiokol Corp., and the Ensign-Bickford Co. Most recently, he was Special Devices’ vice president of strategic marketing and programs.
The company also appointed Bob Sepulveda as vice president and general manager of the Moorpark Automotive Division. He has been working as a consultant with the company since February.
In his new position, Sepulveda will direct automotive operations at the Moorpark facility.
