The City Council on Wednesday will consider awarding a $42,000 contract to Steiny & Co. to change the traffic signal at El Toro Road and Calle Sonora. The company also plans to modify a right-turn lane from Gate 1 at Avenida Sevilla onto El Toro Road.
Council members will consider amending the 1999-2000 transportation fund budget to provide $55,000 in gas tax money for the contract.
Steiny & Co. offered the lowest of four bids, which were as high as $72,000.
The council will meet at 2 p.m. in the boardroom of the Leisure World Administration Building, 23522 Paseo de Valencia.
