The school board is scheduled tonight to consider reorganizing the Laguna Beach High School guidance department to make it more effective.
The plans were drafted as a response to student and parent suggestions during this year’s accreditation process.
The plans call for changing the counselors’ duties to include working with the principal, assistant principal, activities director and athletic director to find a wider range of solutions to individual student problems.
The reorganization would realign workloads, expand services, consolidate programs and incorporate national counseling standards, according to a staff report.
The board meets at 7 p.m. at the district office, 550 Blumont St.
Information: (949) 497-4400.
