Not everyone who comes to the mission is interested in history: Some people come just to see the gardens, said mission Director Alana Jolley.
This weekend, more than 8,000 people are expected to show up for the Flower and Garden Festival, a two-day annual event that includes plants, food, vendors, plant diagnosis, lectures, demonstrations and a “living history” show about how plants were introduced to California.
Festival admission is $6 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and $4 for children.
