* So the archbishop of San Francisco, William Levada, has sent a video of the San Francisco gay pride parade to convince Italy that Rome’s gay pride festival should be canceled as an affront to Catholicism (“Vatican Sees Gay Festival as an Affront,” June 3). Will Levada also send a video of New Orleans’ Mardi Gras to demonstrate that a festival from the Catholic tradition is a far more dignified affair?
