Semiconductor maker Microsemi Corp. said Thursday it has sold certain assets and operations of its Microsemi Commercial Components unit, part of a move to shed lower margin, slower growing business.
The unit, which had sales of $7.3 million in the last six months, was sold at book value and won’t result in any gain or charge to earnings, Santa Ana-based Microsemi said.
The unit, which sold commodity commercial products, didn’t have a material effect on the corporation’s earnings, a spokesman said.
Micro Commercial, the company formed for the purchase of the unit, will continue to operate at its current location.
