‘Slavemaster’ Death Toll May Be 9, Police Say

LENEXA, Kan. — Up to nine people--eight women and a baby--may have been killed by a Kansas man who is accused of trawling the Internet as a “slavemaster” looking for sadomasochistic sex, authorities said Wednesday.
They said that apart from five bodies which have been found stuffed in barrels over the last several days, three women and the baby of one of them who have been missing since the 1980s could also be victims.
“It’s impossible for any of us to know when this is going to end,” said Johnson County Dist. Atty. Paul Morrison. “We hope it’s going to stop at eight or nine or five” victims.
John Edward Robinson Sr., 56, was arrested in connection with the deaths at his Olathe, Kan., home on Friday. The next day police found two bodies buried in 55-gallon barrels on a 16.5-acre plot Robinson owns in Linn County, south of Kansas City, Kan.
On Monday, investigators found three more bodies in barrels in a Raymore, Mo., storage facility rented by Robinson.
