The Ocean Institute will host its second annual Kids Conference on the Ocean today.
The conference is intended to expose students to the atmosphere of a science conference, said Ocean Institute spokesman Bentley Cavazzi. Besides discussions on environmental issues, the conference will focus on communications skills necessary for effective participation.
The conference is open to third- through fifth-graders from southern Orange County.
The event will take place at 9 a.m. at Laguna Cliffs Marriott in Dana Point. Later, the students will go to R.H. Dana Elementary School.
